Tea grows particularly well at medium altitudes, which, surrounded by morning fog, enjoy mild sunshine, fed by fresh water from mountain springs. One of the few areas in Japan that fulfils these ideal conditions is Kirishima or "Island of Fog".

This is also the home of our supplier, the third generation to deal with the natural and organic cultivation of tea.

Thanks to this decades of experience, a masterly know-how has been developed, which makes these teas one of Japan's absolute top quality teas. At the urgent request of the family, they no longer wish to be mentioned by name, as this has led to a flood of inquiries in the past that a conscientious tea farmer simply cannot cope with.

Kirishima No. 2 is a truly masterly Sencha with a clear cup and a full and deep taste. An exquisite top quality from second picking.
