Chopsticks Koshu
Chopsticks | hashi Koshu
made in Japan
available in three different colours: blue, red and yellow
length: 23 cm
High-quality Japanese chopsticks and hashioki: In Japanese food culture, in contrast to Europe, hardly any forks and knives are used, but mainly chopsticks. These chopsticks are called hashi in Japanese, the accompanying coasters are called Hashioki (literally: chopstick rest). You can find them on almost every table in Japan. After use, place the chopsticks on the hashioki; this prevents them from coming into contact with the table or falling. Chopsticks are placed in front parallel to the edge of the table, with the point to the left (for right-handed people). The core of a Japanese chopstick is made of wood or bamboo. It is either covered with a thin, transparent layer of varnish or elaborately refined with several layers of colored varnish.
