2019 is the year of the wild boar 亥 (Inoshishi) in Japan. This Limited Edition incense burner is made in a limited edition and the image features a wild boar, Daruma (lucky doll modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen) and a lucky house.
The 12 animals of the zodiac (eto, or Jun-shi) are closely related to their Chinese counterparts. In Japan, Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Wild Boar follow each other in 12 year cycles.
